Future Tree

My mind has been swimming as I planned my future...again! I'm always reorganizing my life or trying to find new ways to do things. I'm also a very big fan of breaking old, bad habits. So, I decided to do a future tree. The future tree was something I learned in a class and I had never done before. The instructions seemed pretty easy, until I tried it. At the top of your sheet of paper, you write where you want to be in the future, of course. Well I did it and I did a short term future tree (5 years). Well, 1) had I known it was going to be so detailed and tedious, I would have opted for something different and 2) I was amazed at how satisfying and overwhelming my life would look!

On one hand, I now have a detailed view of what I should do to get where I want to be. At the same time, I can't believe everything I have to do to get where I want to be. No wonder people settle for the simple life. And that's not all that simple either. Here's to another road trip!

Faith Tested

It never seems to amaze me how quickly bad things follow good ones. Does it ever seem that way to you? You could be having a terrible day and it'll seem like eternity before something great will happen to change everything around. Yet, you could be having a glorious day and in a flash the worst will happen. I'll admit, at times my faith is tested. At times I want to ask God a range of questions from "Is this some kind of joke," to "What have I done to deserve this?" But that never helps. These past few days, some uncomfortable things have happened. I use the term "uncomfortable" because I've had bad things happen and this isn't bad. It could become bad, but I pray that doesn't happen. I am determined to stay strong in this and not let it make me crumble. Surely we've all had to pick ourselves up from time to time. Here's my time. Here's to another road trip.
